Guided relaxation techniques can help you

  • Refresh your energy

  • Manage stress

  • Improve your sleep

  • Express your creativity

  • Release tension

  • Quiet mind chatter

  • Increase your focus

  • Enhance your confidence

You can benefit from relaxation techniques whether your stress level is high or moderate. Practicing relaxation techniques involves awareness and focus — becoming aware of how your mind and body react to stress and then focusing on something calming.

As you learn and practice relaxation techniques, your awareness of muscle tension and how your body and mind react to stress will increase. Knowing what the stress response feels like can help you use relaxation techniques when you start to feel stress symptoms. This can prevent stress from spinning out of control and affecting your quality of life.
